Microsoft Windows 7 is finally here !!!

The entire community has been waiting for Microsoft to release Windows 7 since the disastrous release of Windows Vista and it’s finally here !!!

A lot of manufacturers got themselves into trouble with Windows Vista because they didn’t expect such overhead. At SuperTechTeam, we saw Vista systems loaded with inferior Intel Celeron processors and only 512 MB of shared memory. These poor systems were unable to handle such huge expectations from the operation system (Vista) and thus a disastrous user experience. Some users went out and actually replaced the systems thinking that something was faulty…. those days are now over (thank you Microsoft).

We were involved in the beta process of Windows 7 and we were impressed from the original beta releases. Microsoft has taken Vista, optimized & fined tuned it and the final product is Windows 7. Another important factor is that now they are working a little better with the manufacturers and making sure that these new systems are NOT release on machines that do not meet their requirements. Even the entry-level computers you can pickup these days are loaded with lots of memory and a powerful processor to meet the minimum requirements of Windows 7. Additionally, the vendors & Microsoft have now gone ahead with the whole 64-bit processing operating system for the general public. We would say that 75% of the Windows 7 machines out there are loaded with the 64-bit versions of the OS and this will make a HUGE difference in performance. 64-bit is the only way to go as most of the processors today have dual-core, triple-core, quad core.

We recommend that any users who are experience Vista issues to UPGRADE to Windows 7. Unfortunately, it is not free to upgrade but Microsoft has try to give users multiple options with different flavors of the OS (HOME, PRO, ULTIMATE).

  2. My friend and I were recently discussing about the prevalence of technology in our day to day lives. Reading this post makes me think back to that discussion we had, and just how inseparable from electronics we have all become.

I don’t mean this in a bad way, of course! Ethical concerns aside… I just hope that as memory becomes cheaper, the possibility of copying our memories onto a digital medium becomes a true reality. It’s a fantasy that I daydream about almost every day.
